Speed Buffer question

I did a search and couldnt exactly find what i was looking for. There is a seperate 2-prong plug with a purple and a yellow wire that goes into the buffer box. If im not mistaken, its for the sending unit. But when I look, theres another "Yellow and purple plug" just dangling upon the wirey mess going to or from the ECU. It wont fit into the buffer. I am very very confused. Am I missing something important? Im trying to get this squared away cuz my speedo isnt working and the VSS is brand new. Thanks

The top 2 wires

Ill take some pics if needed. Thank you

I have a feeling that what you are looking at is the wiring for the clutch safety switch that would be used if you had a manual transmission instead of an automatic. If would serve the same purpose as the park/neutral switch. BTW, wiring for both automatic and manual transmissions were included in some models.

Re: Speed Buffer question

Hi Trickster

Do you have any clue on what the signals out from the buffer box is.
I hav figured out this now, correct me if I am wrong:
The twin plug is the signals from the trans = witch is analog
The four wire plug is probably all output?
Is there no power for this box?
are there diffrent amount of pulses pr mile on the different outputs?

I need to know this to hopefully use this as a signal splitter for my custom set up. New ECM (holley 950 comander), TCI tansmission controller, and original speedo. I need to split VCC signal to the TCI and speedo. the VCC signal is not stong enough to feed both TCI and speedo.
