Headlights and Radio

Whenever my headlights are on my radio pops when I change the channel or turn it on or off. It doesnt do it when the headlights are off though. Its the factory radio and I've never touched the any of the electrical. Anyone have the same problem or advice for a cure?

check to make sure your ground strap that mounts on the back of the drivers side head is not broken.

if you have no ground you're radio wouldn't turn on at all. It would be just like not hooking up both ends of a battery.

Does your voltage go down a lot when you turn on your headlights? I've never heard of this problem. By the radio popping do you mean the speakers popping and does it happen no matter what volume you have it at or is it louder when the volume is turned up? Does your radio put regular audio to the speakers with the popping or is it just silent with popping?

Its just a regular tape deck, factory GM, what came in the car new. I don't think it has anything to do with the radio because it still does it if I use a different radio.
