key fob conversion.....

key fob conversion.....
i was just wondering if anyone has ever done a key fob conversion.....the reason why i ask is because i like the way the switchblade VW key fobs look, and i would like to convert one of those so i can use it for my car.......

Very true. That key is a cool at first, but gets annoying when it keeps opening in your pocket.
The switchs are also very different. So it would be a pain in the *** to swap them. One option you can use is to remove the blade of a vw or audi key. There is a roll pin that can be punched out when the key is between full open and full closed. Then you have to figure out a way to get the existing key blade to lock into the vw/audi key. The biggest problem youll find after doing that is that you have to notch key fob for the key to fold flat and lock in the closed position.
