need help matching up wires
Ok, im not the most advanced electronics guy, but heres the deal im swaping in the entire 4th gen wiring harness and need to know which wires attach to the 3rd gen wires for the following:
1. Third brake light? which of the wires is pos and which is neg?
2. The tail light assemblys i need to know which wires goto what light and pos. and neg.

why are you swapping the taillight wiring? it just seems like a lot of extra work for nothing, unless you have no wires there.
Really if you have all those wires there already for your turn signals and brake nights then no need to replace them.
one way to find out what the wires are is to get a cheap voltmeter. connect one end to the metal chassis of your car(aka ground) and the other to your wire. When you hit the brake, if you have the positive wire, you see a reading of about 12 volts on the meter. Just an example

no im trying to tie my 4th gen wiring into the 3rd gen taillight wiring, and i cant really test it like you said becasue i dont have any of the wiring harnesses hooked up.

Third gen:
Look at the connector al the way down where it says high level brake light. Its a yellow wire.
