ecm bulkhead connector seperation ?

I want to add tpi wiring to convert my tbi harness to TPI ... how do I seperate the ecm's bulkhead connector and put the injector wires in it so I don't have splicing under the hood, I suppose I could splice if it's a pain but I'de rather just replace the entire injector and tps and IAC wires for a cleaner look

it isn't intended to be separated. It is sealed with an epoxy to keep the water from getting into the cabin.

It can be seperated right in between the 2 harnesses that come out there is a small bolt that connects the 2 its like a 6.5 mm I think I just swapped out every piece of wire in my car the 2 bolt/nuts next to it hold the inside part of the connector to the firewall.

He's talking about the ECM bulkhead that comes out from the passenger side hinge pillar. You're thinking about the underhood chassis one.

The ECM b/h can be taken apart but, it's really not worth the effort.

I did it on my '93 Chevy TBI truck and its basically the same as the 3rd gen's. I felt it was worth it considering I didn't want to have a ton of cut wires just sitting there looking nasty and having to drill a 2" hole for a new harness. Plus there wasn't much room to put a new one.

If are still interested in doing it say so and I can give you some tips. I'm pretty sure I found out how to do it on this site. Try searching.

So in order to remove the engine harness, the entire dash harness must be fed thru the fender?

No you have that backwards the engine harness has to feed thru the fender.... The dash harness stays where it is at....Just disconnect from the computer and pull that out then feed the engine harness thru the fender as well and presto one removed harness.....You cab try to finagle the bulkhead connector thru the fender into the engine bat but generally it will not fit without cutting.

Does anyone know where a connector pinout of the firewall connector next to the master cylinder could be found? I have an 86Camaro 350 with a carb. tryin to get all the wiring cleaned up not sure if there is anything i can take off of that harness to help clean it all up. this will have no emissions/cruise/ac just a bare bones fun weekend toy

Most everything on that side is for general acc....like lights....Cruise should be seperate depending on year....Fog lights if you have them are also seperate...Most of your engine harness is passenger side being that that is the side going to the ECM
