Positive battery wire P/N???

Due to a hack job from needing a quick roadside repair from a part failure, lol, I need a new posititve battery cable.

It appears to be a very large piece and I need the whole thing, from the batt, to the alt, to the starter, etc.

Anyone know what the P/N is for my car (in my sig) so that I can order it from GMPartsDirect?

Also is there maybe a company that makes a direct replacement version of this in a larger guage or can anyone recommend a place that can custom make me one that would be top notch quality with all the correct GM connectors etc?

Thanks!!!

Alex

I just checked my car folder because I remembered looking this part number up about a year ago. I found a printout.

Try Gm#12157285. The MSRP and sale price come up the same as Deadbird's post.

As of 12/12/04 www.gmpartsdirect.com had it for $30.55. Now I can't find it using a search.

Thanks! Yeah that's the same P/N that new gm parts place lists. GMpartsDirect doesn't even show it anymore Sucks cause I have to order about $1K worth of stuff but some thing this new gm parts place doesn't have either. Sucks cause now I have to order from both.

Thanks for the leads though guys!

Equivalent Part Number:

Try the AC/Delco part number. Its the same thing. Call around to who ever sells Delco stuff where you are.

ACDelco.com shows that to be a negative cable used on 2002 L6 256ci GM models

Browsing shows part 2SX30-2 to be the correct negative cable for my 92 GTA.

However I can't find the positive yet

Try an AC-Delco 2SD76X. That will get you from the battery to the starter side terminal.

The second number in the part number is the length in inches. Is the stock positive cable over 6 feet?

I found the part number last night while searching at www.autopartsgiant.com. A cross-reference to vehicle list by part number at delco's site comes up with a 4.3L Astro positive battery cable application though.

HTH
