trans am cluster swap.140kmh-140mph?

Does anyone know if I can directly swap out my 87 transam 140kmh cluster for an 140mph from a 90 transam without any issues or should i look for a higher kmh cluster.would there be any wiring issues?

kmh is measured diffrently then MPH so I would imagine you could install it but it would need to be calibrated after installing it.

They aren't measured any differently. A metric speedo is interchangeable with an english one.

I don't know if there are any differences between the 87 and 90 Firebird speedos though. They're both electronic so there might not be.

I replaced my old "85mph" to a "140mph" and had no troubles. I think that the conversion process takes place in the circuit board that is connected the the speedo gauge, so make sure you change the gauge with the chip board. On my conversion everything seems to be accurate mileage, trip and speed. hope this helps. I'm not sure about the 87 to 90 swap though.
