NEED HELP WITH ECM WIRING

JUST CAME INTO MY POSSION IS A 88 CAMARO 305 TBI (CODE E) , THIS THING WILL NOT START..(NO FIRE OUT OF THE DISTRIBUTER.... I GUESS IT HASNT STARTED IN ABOUT 2 YEARS) I JUST HAD THE ECM TESTED & IT TESTED GOOD SO I GUESS MY NEXT STEP IS THE PICK UP COIL

ANYHOW MY QUESTION IS: WHEN I TOOK THE SPARK MODULE OUT I NOTICED THAT THE CONNECTOR FROM THE PICK UP COIL WAS KINDA SOFT & GLUEY & THE TWO WIRES COMMING OUT OF THIS CONNECTOR CAME OUT, ME BEING THE EXPERIENCED MECHANIC I AM DIDNT NOTICE WHAT COLOR WAS POS & WHAT WAS NEG.
I NOW HAVE THE NEG. AS YELLOW & GREEN AS POS.
IS THIS RIGHT
THANKS

PAUL

Most wires coming out of the ECM are switchable grounds. The only yellow wire out of both connectors (C10) is your coolant temperature signal.

As far as the "green" wire goes... There are 2 choices. That's assuming this green wire is not striped.

D14 - Light Green - Injector 2 drive
C11 - Light Green - Map Signal

As far as I know, Without the yellow wire, your computer would just think it is -40 *F or *C outside. This probably will not effect spark. I'm not positive of the other 2 wires. I think that no MAP signal will cause the computer to close its EST circuit.

Lol, thats partially my fault as well. I was reading about your ecm and assumed.

I belive you're talking about the two wires that go from the distributer directly to the primary coil. I'de help you but alldata will not give me the wire colors or connector views. I don't believe either wire has a full 12v but both are positive.
