Mechanical Speedo?

What years had mechanical speedometers? Getting rid of the 2.8 in my girlfriends camaro, and I'm getting rid of the ECM while I'm at it. So I've gotta track down a mechanical speedometer and tachometer. Thanks guys

In the camaro everything up to 89 is mechanical. The ECM has no affect on the operation of the speedo, so you won't need to change it anyway.

Not true. My 86 TA had a electrical speedo.

Ok. The current speedo will work with no ECM right. But the tach won't will it...? The only way I'm keeping the ECM is if I got with TPI. The wiring in her camaro is screwed...it's been hacked and rewired over the years. I'm just gonna rewire the entire car while I've got the car stripped and bare...

I'm sure it does, but a Trans Am isn't a Camaro. Either way, the ECM still has nothing to do with making the speedometer work.
