Check for power at the blower motor with the controls on (and make sure the blower wires are all connected). If you have power and the blower motor isn't running, REPLACE IT NOW. A seized blower motor on my '84 started a fire in the engine bay with all the grease and gunk built up in that area.

i checked for power at the motor,i think it is a purple wire and a black one that plug into the heater box in the engine bay.neither one of them had power,so is it my heater controls inside the dash that need to be replaced???

i wasnt really sure how to test the relay,so im not sure if thats it either.any info would be helpful.

Heater fan
Besides the heater not working.
Does your Cooling fan to your radiator still come on?
Do you have A/C? If so does that engage when on?
Last week my son, Tony, his car started to overheat. Come to find out his cooling fan and blower for the inside of the car stopped working. I too checked all the fuses and relays. Read out the cooling fan and the blower motor. Everything was good.
Yesterday evening left it at the dealer to check it out. Today they found the problem. Ready????? It was the ignition switch in the car. Everything is working now.
Hope this helps

Blower motor
The plug on your blower motordoes it have two wire connection going into the blower motor or just one wire connection with the black wire secured in place by the blower motor hardware, grounding it to the motor housing?

it has one purple wire that plugs into the blower motor and the black wire just clips on for the ground i guess.

Check the relay first with the fan switch on. You should have 12V in and 12V out (not sure on the wire colors or relay location, should be on the firewall). If power in but not out - the relay is toast. If power on both sides, check the resistor on hte blower housing.

Did you try to relocate your grounding wire.
Get a short wire and strip the ends of it. Place one end in the connector end and toch the other end to a ground some where else on the blower motor.
You might just have a bad ground.
I use to have a 76 Nova and when the blower would stop working I found it to be the grounding wire.
Turn on your car with the fan on and wiggle the wire to see if it comes on while you are moving the wire.

The relay is fairly new. I changed it when I owned the car. However this also happened to me but I cannot remember what I had to do to fix it sorry.
Oh yea sorry that my buddy bombed your other post.
