There is a relay on the passenger side of the dash behind the trim panel under the map pouch. Could be the problem. Check the connections at the hatch shocks as well.

The leads to the hatch struts were my problem. The ground lead on the passenger side was broken and the drivers side supply(hot) was pinch apart somehow. There's really not a whole lot that can go wrong besides the timer/relay or a part of the grid being broken.

Even if part of the grid is broken it would still work unless ALL grid lines are broken. The next time you try it, listen for the relay (mentioned above) to click. If you don't hear the click check the relay.
