I hear hatch relay clicking in the dash -- where is it?

Well since nobody seems to be responding to my other post, let me try a post w/ a title that more accurately describes what I need at this pt in the process...

I need to find the relay that is triggered when u push the hatch pop button in the dash. Yes, I have the diagram that is posted here on this site, but unfortunately my car doesn't match it. My car is an '88 Trans Am.

I unplugged a wire on the hatch motor. Now when I hit the hatch button, I can hear a relay clicking. I assume this must be the relay that triggers the hatch, becuz it only clicks when I hit the switch and it doesn't work if the ignition is on.

Now here's the problem... I can't find this f*ckin relay!! It sounds like it's coming from the pass side of the dash, so I took the hush panel and the little plastic piece above it off. But I still can't see anything... the only other thing I can take off is the dash pad. Or maybe it's coming from behind the radio or something... does anybody know where this relay is before I tear my whole dash apart????

Passenger side of the dash under the trim panel that is under the map pocket. It is up in the dash a little. It is physically behind the map pocket. You just have to dig a little. If you unplugged the black wire from the hatch motor the release solenoid will not work.

It is in the location Bingo describes on Firebirds. On Camaros it is below the center console adjacent to the gear selector.
