C207 connector problems

I have found several references to the C207 connector for the 85-89 vehicles. I think that this may be the problem that I am encountering with my fuel pump not working. I have on the connector side for both B and G black wires and according to everything I have seen on this site those should be PNk/RED for B and PNK/BLK for G. Could someone confirm as the chassis is an 85 TPI and the engine is from an 88 TPI.

For a 1988 camaro, Pin "B" is for the fuel injectors and should be "BLACK" for a VIN "F" or "8". Pin "G" is also for the fuel injectors (second bank) and should also be black for the VIN "F" & "8".

Okay so the 207 connector that is on the computer side will match up with the dash side if I understand you correctly then, so that is not the problem. I also read about the C221 connector which I seem to have the male ends on the dash side, but do not have anything on the engine side of the harness. Does this really mean that the engine harness is from an 89 rather than an 88? Finally there are actually two six prong plugs on the dash side of the wiring from the 85 and so I am trying to sort all of this out. I can crank the engine over, but it will not start. I have also tried to use the G terminal on the ALDL port and it only causes the open door chime. Finally I have also checked the single spade connector (black connector w/ red wire) on the right side of the engine compartment as I was told it was the hot feed to check the pump and nothing happened.

Hopefully someone has some more suggestions as I really would like to get this thing to start since I am currently borrowing a vehicle to drive until I get this thing running. I am considering changing the wiring harness to one that I know is good to eliminate that as a possible problem source.

That would be very nice. In specific I am interested in the connectors on the harness by the computer and also the bulkhead connector to see what it compares to. I have asked some people in my local car club but none of them have an 86-89 TPI setup.

Hmm, I do not think that will work. I had an 85 harness that I sold to someone on the board because it wouldn't work since I got a 350 to put into the car. The harness that I have had the bulkhead connector hacked up so I tried splices but it has not gone well because I am beginning to think that somehow it is a 89 harness that is on an 88 engine since several things are just not adding up.

Okay I have pulled the harness out and want to make sure that the pinouts for the 1985 car and the 1988 car match up since the wire colors appear to be different in some locations on the harness. Here is what I have found: 1988 harness
A BRN
B BLK
C BRN/WHT
D TAN/WHT
E WHT/BLK
F PNK/BLK
G BLK
H TAN/BLK
J PNK
K BRN
L DRKBLU
M BLK/WHT
N PNK/BLK
P NOT USED
R PPL/WHT

1985 Harness
A BLK
B RED
C BLK/WHT
D TAN/WHT
E WHT/BLK
F PNK/BLK
G PNK/BLK
H TAN/BLK
J PNK
K BRN
L NOT USED
M BLK/WHT
N PNK/BLK
P BRN/BLK
R BRN/WHT

The colors for the 1988 are fairly close to what I have seen in other posts although there are some differences. I guess I am assuming that I need to match by function in this case rather than by wire color?

Nathan. the wire colors for the functions will vary according to the type of engine in each model.

Both engines were TPI, the one from the 1985 that was removed was a 305 and the one going in is a 350. Where can I find the information about what the functions of the wires are? Do I need the GM service manual pages for the connector? I have looked in the manuals that I have, chiltons, haynes, the autozone website etc, but cannot see where these wires are at in terms of overall diagrams.

thanks for posting those pics, the two connectors on the far left and right in the first pic are the ones that are not on the 88 harness that I have, so are those the C221 connector and C240 connector?

What manual do you have that has those connectors labelled? I have seen a couple of diagrams on the board, but none of the manuals I have tried have them listed.
