Negitive battery cable smoking
i have a 88 iroc with tpi and i just put a motor in it and sometimes after i run around the block a few times then shut if off its hard to start(turns over slow, but i have a mini starter). btu the kicker is is that the little wire running off the battery (neg side) is melting the wire casing off and smokes!! any one have any ideas why its frying the little negitive wire?

Motor ground is bad... redo the grounds, should be a large ground connected to the front of the motor, smaller on back firewall
