It might be the key reader or passkey module.

If your injectors are pulsing after the prime you should check your fuel pressure and possibly the icm.

You might try pulling the prom and see if it runs this would bypass the vats but the engine would run poorly. I don’t know if you pour fuel in the tb if the starting would bypass the vats.

Im not a real mechanic just trying to help my mother in law. So i making sure i understand this right by grounding the starter relay it will crank but not fire the injectors but by using the resistors it will fire them. I tested the resistance of the key it was 2.88 but did not get any reading at the plug under the column telling me it is the two little wires on the cylinder. Am i correct in this

You correct it’s a key reader issue. You can replace the lock cylinder or bypass the key reader bye installing the appropriate resistance . Sounds like your saying it’s number 9 on the key chart.

Maybe someone can tell me or post a link for my situation.I want to put a 91 Corvette TPI 350 in my 87 Firebird.I was told I have to get wire harness and ecm from 350 TPI Camaro or Firebird. If I do this, how will I bypass the vats in the 89-92 ecms?My car is a 5 speed and I don't have Vatts on my car. Thanks
