im amused
the small single wire on the small stud all by itself is the solenoid wire from the ignition switch
all the rest of them bolt to the large stud along with the positive battery cable
and thats it, nothing to do with guages
if youre having a dash problem then i would remove the instrument cluster and clean and check all the contacts where the cluster plugs into the harness back there
some of the pins could be loose or bent,
this is a pretty common problem especially on the s-10 trucks and such, seen it happen a million times
but first make sure you have no wire touching grounding out melting on your exhaust anywhere, this is common to happen to, and when the temp wire or another wire get stuck to the exhaust then it can cause some funny things to happen
good luck

no ground stud there buddy. Only terminals on the starter are the S,B and M. S is the neutral safety/starter enable relay/whatever control side of the circuit. B is battery positive and M is for Motor power only

check the ground under the dash, its the #1 cause of most problems..
do check the wires and fusible links at the starter. one of the wires powers your interior and may have something to do with your problem.
red wire i think.
good luck!
