Replace fog light bulbs
I have a 87 IROC with the orginal fog lights. I have tried to get them to light up but I am having no luck. What do I need to check and how do you remove and replace the bulbs in them?

Removing the bulbs is pretty basic, there should be a screw on each side of the housing that will allow you to remove the lens. May also want to make sure you've got power to the fog light relay and it's sending 12 volts to the bulbs.
If you have to purchase replacement bulbs (and your lenses are old, yellowed and scratched) you may want to consider buying the aftermarket fog light kit from AZ or the equivalent. For around $18-20 you can get new reflectors, lenses and lamps that will swap right in to your existing housing. Just bring in one of your old lenses to make sure you get the right size. Considering replacment lamps can run $5-8, it's a pretty sweet deal.

Yes, also the S-10 and a few other vehicles. Like the door handles, GM recycled lots of parts. I found this out here on TGO, a thread from 2000 or something. I think the guy's name who was asking about them was "oneeyedjack". I just didn't want to spend stupid money from GM, iirc their replacement lights (just the glass actually) was over $40 each.

I meant the entire housing, although I did notice they are not "sealed". The back stamped steel housing is just glued to the glass with a light adhesive, then tabs bent around the glass. Looks like the tabs held the glass untill the glue was set. A sealed housing means you have to replace the entire unit when the bulb goes bad, similar to most headlamps.

Yes the headlight switch in the on position when I have the fog lights on. I checked the bulbs and they are ok. I will replace the relay to see if that is the problem. Is there a fuse for those fog lights?

Dunno on the Camaro ones, but have you checked to see if they work, whether the headlights are in the high or low position?
GTAs are stock with the fog lights working only with the low beams, not working with the high beams. A simple fix that I took care of. Now, they work regardless of highs or lows!

I'm inferring that you've checked the leads going into the bulbs and found 12 volts hot and the bulbs are still not lighting. Would seem your bulbs are bad or the connection at the bulb(s) is bad. The rest of this talk has me concerned that some physical laws are in danger.
