Right turn signal out
My right turn signal wont flash. When I hit my emergency flashers my front right will flash, but the rear is still out. I checked the bulbs and they appers to be fine. I replaced a with a new one I had lying around when it broke when I went to remove one, now that bulb is brighter then the rest, but still no flash. any ideas?
*edit* I fixed the problem with why the new bulb was brighter. I also tried to depress the brake to see if any of the bulbs on the right side got brighter, and nothing happend.

the stupid thing about that system is that if one light goes out, everything is screwd up. are you sure all of your lights work, even the front and rear left ones? and what is this story about your brake lights not working either? mayb take a look at that bulb too, it could be that the 2 problems are mutually exclusive, or connected in every way.

Everything points to a faulty bulb on the right side, but I can't find it.

I just changed all the bulbs on the right side, and still no luck.
I want to believe its a short from the flasher to the bulbs, but the Haynes manual says if you don't hear the flasher, then its the bulbs. If you hear it, then its the flasher or a short. I hear both hazard and trun signal flashers, but it aint the bulbs.
?

I think the problem is a short that is involved with the hazards, turn signals, and brake wire that goes to the rear right side of the tail lights.
does anyone have a scaned wiring diagram for the taillights to the fusebox to a 82-84 Firebird/Trans-Am? The Hayne's manual doesn't have the tail lights.

thats kinda funky to have a short like that, but if all your bulbs work and your fronts work then i guess its the wiring harness. sry dude i dont have that wiring schematic, mayb look on google.ca

Ok, if I'm getting this right, you have the same issue as me, right blinker stays lit up front back right is out, bulb is good. flashers work up front bothsides back right does nothing. I'm yet to figure it out. We are both doing something wrong. I'll let you know if i find a fix...

figured it out. I have a tilt wheel on my car, and i pulled it apart, theres this little peice of plastic with two metal (brass i think) tabs the two ends touck the backing plate to the turn signal assembly inside, whell the other end of those two tabs slides into a square slot on the right had side in the tilt assembly and i think grounds the blinker switch on the inside of the lock cylinder, (grounds or touches it whatever, i suck at electrics) well one of my tabs was worn and bent down, and i bent it back, and tada it blinks now, but i think my flasher is messed up cause one blinks slightly slower than the other(not faster like its shorting, just at a barely noticable speed slower) I'll tell you if that fixes that problem too when i replace the flasher.
