I have read most everything on here about my car, but no one fits my problem to a tee. (very close though) Here it is, I bought the car after it sat for 4 years. Replaced the fuel pump, filter and put new fuel in. The car has 44 psi at the injectors and fires really well. I can let it sit a day without the battery hook-up and try to crack it, and it will hit and and then on nothing else. I have checked everything I have read in the post. I cannot find this one question, many people say if it is the vats the motor will not turn over. I was wondering about the vats; Will it let the motor turn over and the injectors not fire? The distributor is working properly and all fuses are good. There is power to the injectors. What else causes the injectors to pulse other than the ecm. cannot get the car to run in order to get any codes. I think that covers it, and I have read, read, read, and tried everthing I saw.

 

so when the engine wont start, it wont turn over? or it will turn over but not start?

if it wont start then it could be your ignition switch, try replacing it and see if its any better. if it wont turn over at all, check your starter.

 

IT TURNS OVER VERY WELL AND FIRES, BUT THE INJECTORS DO NOT PULSE. Everyone said if it was the vats that the motor would not spin over.

 

The VATS does 2 things it disables the started and won't fire the injectors. If someone rigged the starter to bypass the VATS the Computer still won't fire the injectors. I'm not sure if this is you're problem though.

 

No, I do not think that is it. I bought the car from my brother and he has never done anything to it.

perhaps its the ignition switch, doesnt the ignition switch control the relay for the injectors?

 

try a igntion module it may be the problem some parts stores will test them for free it may help

 

New switch, and the ignition module checked out along with the pick-up coil. Also, gramps I was told if it was the ignition it wouldn't turn over in addition to the injectors not working. Plus, I tried the bypassing of the vats, not real sure i've done it right. I had a buddy with me and he has done 4 of them and they all worked. He uses a potentiometer (something like that)

 

well then i dunno, mayb a fuse or a relay? other than that, get it toed to a shop. sorry dude but ive run out of options.
