where to wire O2 sensor heater circuit
I am trying to figure out the best place to wire in my O2 sensor heater. I had it wired into the pink circuit that used to supply power to the gauges and AIR solenoids because the AIR system isnt there anymore. That resulted in a blown fuse however.
So where would the best place be to wire in the O2 heater?

Any 12V+ with key on will work.
I wired mine into the power wire for the knock sensor module. The heater shouldn't draw much power; are you sure it was wired up correctly.

yes -- I just had one too many things on that circuit including the ignition box.
I understand that any switched 12 volt source WOULD do but which one has the most overhead? I guess I am just looking for someone to say "I wired mine in here, and its been working great"

Ha Ha. Ok sorry I hadent really considered the Knock Sensor module power but I was hoping to just wire into the fuse block.
And if you search for AFS-74 that should give you a list of places that sell heated O2 sensors that fit our cars. then you just have to wire it up....

Well, I spliced off of my fuel pump circuit post-relay to run mine. That way the sensor doesn't sit and use juice while my key is in run but the motor isn't running.
From what I've read, heating the sensor without the engine running can lead to premature failure. That article was wideband specific, though.

well I just wired it the way I had it before -- using the 2 leads for the AIR select and divert solenoids. Except this time I moved my ignition system from that circuit to the bat terminals on the fuse block with a switch in the loop so I can turn the ignition on and off independently of the key. its seems to be working well so far.
