ECM fuse blowing - help diagnosing?
Hey all.
About a month ago, after racing around town to show up at the junkyard on time, I showed up thinking I was going to have 30mins to spare... except they closed at 4:30, not 5. =) After peeling out, my idle dropped and check engine light came on - didn't know why.
For about two weeks it was getting 2-3days of work driving on a tank, I figured something was up. Checked fuses, engine control fuse was blown. Replaced it, it'd blow after a little while idling or almost immediately after taking off. During that time though, idle hopped way up (adjusted throttle to compensate until I could take a look at this, so it makes sense).
I haven't had time until today to look at it... trying to diagnose and according to the multimeter, it looks like the fused power wire is probably grounding out somewhere. Took a look at the diagnostics... holy crap, that wire goes to a lot of places. Tried running without the computer plugged in, and the fuse still blew, so it's probably something else.
The only thing I know of with these schematics (http://www.geocities.com/vtcamaro/Pi...rams/pg143.jpg) is the computer unit and the MCS, both of which are plugged in and seem to work. I don't know where anything else is,
It could still be a problem with this wire grounding somewhere like at the splice or a crimp, but I'd like to check all the endpoints that I can to rule them out (I am going to be swapping my engine soon and putting in aftermarket carb/dizzy, so if I can't figure it out, I'll just go a few more weeks with the crappy milage before I swap).
Any help?

You may want to check power to your trani converter if it applies to your car. This will lower your mileage 10-15% if its not being powered. Save those coins,Walt
