speedometer not working. i hit a bump going down the road today and the speedometer made a loud zing noise and the needle went all the way to the last mark, back to zero and hasent moved since. will a new speedometer cable fix this?

Well my memory is failing me but if your speedo is mechanical which I think it is then yes, a new cable will probably fix the issue. The "zing" you probably heard was the physical cable failing.
