Starter Issues
soooo yea i was out driving one night and my car stalled (dont worry about the stalling i know why it did it) and i went to go restart it... and boom the car wouldnt start.... what it'll do is... if i go to turn the key to crank the car... the dash lights get dim.... and then if i hold the key on crank.. eventually the starter will start clicking and the dash lights go back to normal brightness... now the battery isnt the issue because i tried it with jumper cables to another car and it did the same thing... some things i have noticed... my started cable seems to have rubbed on my serp belt.. and it wore through the shielding and theres some corrosion... soo my question is.. does this seem like just a loose/bad connection issue? or did my starter take a poop on me....its almost like the starter is trying to get the power to crank the car...but it just cant....

its either low battery or bad battery cable connection somewhere
check the battery cinnections first,
take them apart and clean them with baking soda water and a little wire handle brush
then dry them off real good and tighten them up real good
and get some anti corrosion paste/jelly next time you are in town
it seals away moisture and thus prevents corrossion
good luck

Bad starter solenoid or undercharged battery. That clicking stuff used to happen to me and I found I had a drain on the battery.
BTW, why does it stall?

the solenoid clicks rapidly when the battery is low
its not due to a bad solenoid if its rapidly clicking
we need to knwo exactly what kind of clicking you hear
make sure the battery is up, 14.5 volts
good luck

what if the battery only puts out 2.5 volts? is that a problem or is it normal? my starter is turning over but really slowly and i tested it and the batter is fully charged and putting out 12.5 volts ath the terminals and at the connection to the selinoid. is it a defective battery? i just bought it 2 days ago?

well one problem is that trying to run the starter with a low battery will end up heating and damaging the starter
you need to get the battery charged up fully/replaced first
then go from there, also after cleaning all connections too
go from there
i would take the battery to the shop and have them go through it, they will gravity test it and charge if needed and load test it, and so on
good luck
