help with 1984 Z-28 wiring
I need some help figuring out some wiring on a 1984 Camaro that was originally the 5.0 HO. The guy I got it from really butcherd it up. I have most of it figured out but cant find the wiring to three parts. I am not sure which wire goes to the fan temp switch. I found one that plugs in, but it is piggybacked thru the same loom as the air con and temp sending unit. It has a black wire and large black plug. That puts it on the wrong side of the motor from what the little manual I have says ( the manual for the HO 350 conversion). Second, on the radiator there is a switch that I believe is for low coolant, cant find any thing close. Last, I cannot find the wires for the alternator! Plugs are still on the original alternator, but for the life of me I cannot find where they are cut. So far, I can only find three wire that are cut and they are blue, dark green, and brown. Any help would be great, and if anyone has a good picture of a stock engine bay, that would help immensely. I used the stuff in the sticky that Vader posted and while helpful, I still got questions. Thanks. Oh, I'm putting a 305 back in it as thats what I have in case this helps.

Re: help with 1984 Z-28 wiring
I remember my dark green was on the driver-side head near the front of the car. It travels with the AC wiring I believe. This is a coolant temp/fan switch. Only one wire to sensor.
I only have one wire from alternator to harness, and I can't think of the color at the moment. The other connector was jumped with a small wire to the alternator output. Self-exciting in a way, I guess.
Is it light blue, dark blue, or just blue?
I've got the haynes manual at home, I'll try to update my response later.

The blue wire is basicly blue, not light or too dark. The green wire for the temp switch for the gauge is there and I have it identified, I guess the other black wire that is in that same loom that has the right plug is probably the right one for the fan temp switch, but doesnt seem right as this switch is supposed to be in the right head on the other side of the motor. I think I might have the alternator figured out. Just hate to get a manual for a couple stupid wires. Thanks.
