starter wirering
ok im new to this i am in the process of doing a trany swap and all well my friend took off the starter and now he is in jail for a little while i had to get a new starter that would work with my 168 tooth flex plate since my old plate was only 153 anyways i have no idea how the wires go back on i know where the battery cable gose but for the other wires i have no idea on the starter i i have a total of 4 posts 3 on the silanoid and on on the starter motor its self theres a r and a s on on the silanoid and a bolt on the maine part of the starter any idea how to wire this up like i said i wasnt the one who took off the starter or i would of known how it went
here is a pic of the back of the starter to give ya more of an idea of what im talking about

i ran into a different problem with the starter i dont have just one wire i have three a purple looking wire and what looks like a smaller purple and an orange beside my red batery cable i also have after market gauges

If the wires went to the starter the size of the ring terminal should tell you which one it goes on... the terminals are MUCH different in size. I believe the R terminal is empty.

looks like some wires where added here is what the look like it was taken with my camera phone thats y its blured

PMPN is right, the size of the ring terminals tells you where the wire goes. Put the big ring terminals on the empty big post (yes, the big black cable and the orange wires too) and then put the ONE small ring terminal on the S post. That should do the trick.

thanks guys for the help i wanted to make sure to do it right i dont want to hurt the starter by wiring it wrong
