Going from CC-distributor to vaccumn advance, any problems?
I've got a funky electrical problem w/ my iginition, at cruising speed and rpms, I get a stutter/miss in the whole motor, and the tach bounces and jumps quite a bit w/ the stutter, much more than the engine is actually changing rpms. If I lift and then get on it, enough to keep the Torqueconverter unlocked, it goes away, as soon as I get the converter locked, it starts stuttering again. It'll do it at idle and low speeds some times as well, but is most noticeable in gears 3 and 4, and will only happen under 2800rpm, over than and it goes away completely. I'm fairly confident the problem lies somewhere in the computer control system, a sensor or wire somewhere isn't right, and I'm considering ditching the CC controlled distributor and going with a vaccumn advance unit. Any reason I can't do this. Will the CC-Qjet still work out with a vaccumn adv distributor. Heck, maybe I'll ditch the Qject and be completely computer free, who knows. But the quesion is, will everything else work ok if I go to a vaccumn advance distributor?
Or, if anybodies got a cure for the problem at hand, I'm open to ideas.

It'll be an ignition problem, not a problem with the ECM at all.
