3rd break light

I have a third brake light on my back windshield in my 92 RS. But it doesnt work. Ive already checked the bulb, and it appears to be fine. The wiring that goes into the light looks fine as well. Any ideas on why it wont work? thanks in advance

Re: 3rd break light

Does the 3rd brake light wire get voltage, with the hatcj closed? Open, it won't. You would hafta check the contacts on the bottom, at the very rear of the trunk, for voltage.

Re: 3rd break light

He should have the light mounted on the top side of the rear glass (inside), should have 12V whenever the brake is pressed, even with the hatch open - there are no contacts at the rear of the hatch. Sometimes the reflector gets brittle from the heat of the bulb and the contacts don't touch the bulb anymore. I'd go out and check mine, but it's out being serviced...

I've replaced my assembly due to a broken reflector with one from http://www.custom-leds.com/ and haven't had a problem since.
