Trouble finding the flasher on an IROC-Z

My girlfriend's turn signals are acting up really wierd, they'll flash real fast and then real slow at random times. So i went and bought a new flasher to put in, but I can't find where it goes!

The Haynes manual says it's either behind the fuse box towards the firewall, or under the center console. I looked in the fuse box compartment and didn't find it, so I'm assuming I have to take apart the whole center consule to put in this stupid $5 part? Am I crazy or do I just not see it?

You could try to turn on the Ign. sw. and then flip on the turn sig., crawl under the dash and listen for the click. Mine was above the fuse box on the dr. side.

Mine is over the brake pedal and above the relay panel. Its built into the top of the panel. It has a silver can and and a flasher relay also some fuses. pull the black plastic clips together and the front will drop to access it

Mine was right on the corner of my dash and my center console under that black panel.
