need help with gear selector switch
Hello
I have a funny problem with gear selector switch in my 89 Formula with th700r4.
Switch not working when is mounted in proper location (shifter of course) If i took out the whole thing and grab it in hand it works
reassembly to shifter and again not working.
I tried another gear selector switch from my friend's car and results are identical
please help

Re: need help with gear selector switch
I guess it is possible that the switch is not being mounted in the right spot. The holes on the switch bracket are sloted for adjustment.
( A Guess !! )
Maybe the shifter is bent where the P/N switch mounts to it. That might be enough to cause the plastic arm on the switch to make poor/no contact with the little metal contacts inside the thing.
( That's just a "shot in the dark " )

Another shot in the dark: could be the wires as well. Once you put the shifter in place, they are bent differently than when the shifter is out. It could make a big difference.

thanks for shooting ;-)
I know about the holes but he is not working at any position...but I'll check shifter contact with switch.
