Mysterious plug
On my 89 IROC I have a square white plug zip tied back. It's on the driver's side near the front of the Transmission. I can't find anywhere it would plug in. Is there suppose to be a plug that goes to the transmission?
Also, by my starter there is a green wire that the plastic clip has broken off of. I don't see where this would plug in at. Any guesses or suggestions?

Re: Mysterious plug
The square plug sounds like it goes into the transmission, it controls converter lockup and maybe something else?
The green wire I've no idea, could be from emissions equipment that was removed. There are only so many green wires on the wiring diagram which can help narrow it down.

Re: Mysterious plug
The car still has full emissions. I wonder why they would unplug that plug from the tranny? Wouldn't that be kind of dumb to basically disable torque converter lockup? Would you do that if you put in an aftermarket torque converter?
I bought it from a girl who kind of ragged it out. She bought it from a finance company that repoed it. My father in law runs the finance company and said that the guy they repoed it from had supposedly rebuilt the engine and possibly some other stuff. Makes me wonder. She never had any trouble with the car the whole time she had it until it stopped starting up for her. Which I found was the VATS, so I fixed that.
