Fuse Identification
Fuse Identification
I've had a problem with an electrical short in my 87 Firebird for awhile now and finally tracked it down to a 15amp fuse on the fuse block. Problem is I have no idea what the fuse goes to. It is located in the very back of the block like it was added to the block as an after thought. The chilton book says the 85 to 89 models are set up with it.
My chilton book shows the fuse in a diagram of the fuse block itself but it's un labeled and I can't find it in the wire diagrams in the book either. The haynes book I have is just about as helpful as the chilton book.
Any ideas what it may be?
(trunk pulldown maybe?)

Re: Fuse Identification
Ok. Let's see if anyone can help with a picture aid.

Can anyone identify the circled fuse? Nowhere in the chilton or hayes book says what this fuse goes to and everything in the car seems to work with it unplugged. There is no identifying marks on the fuse block itself to indicate what it is.
My car is an 87 Firebird Trans Am with a 5.0 TPI engine in it if that helps at all.

Re: Fuse Identification
did you get anywhere with your information? i have a fuse pannel that looks just like that and am having problems getting my alternator to charge, I think it may be one of the brown lines that run back to the fuse pannel when the key is on
thanks
