How do you roll up electric window thats disconnected?
I have a new/used door I am trying to work on thats off of my car. I want to take the window out clean the guides, refurbish everything etc. How am I supposed to roll up the electric window if it is not hooked up?

either disconnect (drill out the rivits) and take the regulator out, or find a power window pigtail wiring harness...plug it in, and apply 12V to it...there is no real other way, as i have spent 30 minutes trying to get 12Vs to that motor and couldn't, outside of drilling a hole in the door.

That sounds like a job!! Well the wiring is still all on it because the person I got it from cut all the wiring at the rubber boot that goes to the body. Would it be bad if I used a car battery as my power source?
Any other ideas? I dont know if I want to start drilling rivets, but if that is the only way...I guess its time to rip out the DeWalt.

if he cut the harness wires at the rubber boot thats perfect!
just connect the two wires with a car battery, if it doesn't move, swap the wires (one combination makes it go up and one goes down). Just be carefull, and i would suggest wearing leather gloves, and don't hold it for long. Although it shouldn't, i can imagine the wires heating up a bit if held for a long time. Just do it as a temporary thing, and be careful, the door is balanced with the door down...when the glass comes out, it will rock towards the top of the glass and if anything is in the way and you don't catch it, it can shatter the glass.
