MYSTERY PLUGS??
Need help on this.
I am repairing my under hood engine harness on my 85 IROC TPI.
I have a couple of plugs (a black one, and a white one) off of a harness that I bought and I don't know where or what they go to.
Sorry about the pic quality, they came off my camera phone.
The first picture shows how close they are to the C100 bulkhead connector.

This picture is a close up of the plug faces.

And this picture shows a small harness with a light and what I think is a "buzzer" (round looking thing) that comes off of the said plugs.
which I think is strange, why would a buzzer (if that is what is is) be under the hood?

Any and all help is as always, greatly appreciated.

BUMP, back to the top.
I don't really need to know what they go to, it just would be nice to know what they are before I modify that part of the C100 bulkhead connector harness.

Re: MYSTERY PLUGS??
A) These connectors look like inside connectors, not meant for engine compartment. So I'd say that the harness you're looking at goes in the inside of the car.
B) It would help to post the wire colors going into the unknown plugs - it's hard to identify a plug from a picture just like that.
C) If this is really the inside harness, I'd guess (just guess) that the two connectors would connect to something very close to the C100, like headlight and foglight switch.
D) Are you sure the harness is from the same year/model vehicle? If somebody sold you let's say a Firebird harness, it would be different because they use different switches in different places.

Re: MYSTERY PLUGS??
yeah I thought they looked like inside plugs too. But it is on the engine side of the C100 connector.
My brother brought my camera back and I will put up good pictures possibly later this evening.
As for the same year/model thing, no... am not sure it is the same.
I know the computer plugs match even the burn off module plug matches.
Pics to follow.

Re: MYSTERY PLUGS??
Dang, I am totally baffled. I have never seen these plugs under the hood. Especially if they are not weather pack connectors.
I'm sorry, I really don't know.
It really looks like some kind of extra harness connected into the main one. Can you take a picture of the extra harness to show it in better detail?
The wire colors give the impression that this harness is for a light switch. Orange, yellow, brown, but that's not 100%.

Re: MYSTERY PLUGS??
yep, it is totally wierd...
I will get pics of the full harness shortly...
(EDIT*added picture)

I removed the 2 green wires on the underhood harness from the balck plug...they (the 2 green wires) don't go back towards the C100, they look like they turn back away from it.
The C100 connector pins match the same one on my old harness so I am going to go ahead and use it, but it just blew my mind when I was sorting out the new harness and came across what looks like an inside harness on the engine side of the C100 harness.
Strange...

Re: MYSTERY PLUGS??
Well, that sure looks like wire colors for a headlight switch (black plug) and foglight switch (white plug). But they don't look like that on our cars. *shrug*
The orange and white wires with the lightbulb are the courtesy light circuit. So this piece of harness definitely came out of the interior. Why they attached it to the engine harness, I have no idea.
Anyway, you don't need that to run the motor, that's the good news.
Hope this helped a little.
