Intermittent blinker problem?

Intermittent blinker problem?
So my right turn signal works fine but my left is a bit messed up. It works from time to time, and when it is working it is slower than the right, when it isn't working, when I set the blinker just stays on and doesn't blink the indicator just stays lit and the turn signal stays lit.
Anyone have any clue what's up with this?

Re: Intermittent blinker problem?
I just fixed mine this w/e.
I bought new bulbs while I had them open but the problem was just dirty/corroded connections.
take bulbs out, clean socket connections with electrical cleaner (I used a toothbrush) and add some bulb lube (not too much as it is conductive and will bridge the connections causing another short, I did that doh!)
then (this is the more important part) there are three connecting pins in the back of the socket that holds the bulb.
Pull off one at a time and clean those and u'll be all set
----------
PS - Let the cleaner DRY THOROUGHLY before you power it up!

Re: Intermittent blinker problem?
No worries - if that doesn't fix it THEN you will have to look into "real" wiring problems like bad ground or broken wires, but I doubt it will come to that...

Re: Intermittent blinker problem?
What kind of cleaner do you use for this? Mine are all pretty gummed up? Also, I located and replaced my hazard flasher, but is there a separate blinker flasher that should be replaced and if so, where would it be located?

I know this is an old post, but I recently replaced my tail light bulbs and my and my turn signal bulbs. After I did this, my passenger side turn signals stopped flashing. Should I take the bulbs out and clean like you suggest or do you think it's the flasher relay? The connections didn't look too bad when I replaced the bulbs.

Re: Intermittent blinker problem?
Probably not the flasher, (there's no "relay") since the same one works both sides. Kinda hard for it to be OK for one side but not the other.
More likely, one of the bulbs on that side isn't in the socket right. Go back and check your work carefully.
