Do I need to get something for this to work
I am getting a Viper Security System and keyless start for my Camaro and it has an extra button on the remote that I want to put as a hatch release. The system I am getting comes from best buy and installing is included in the price. So I am trying to figure out is, will best buy be able to do this by it's self or do I need to get other part for this to be possible. My car does not have the hatch release button in the front the only way to open it is the lock. I’m not really sure if the system hooks some how to the computer to open it or what but any info would be helpful. also on a side note the keyless start well work right? Even with out the chip that is on the key.

when you say your car doesnt have the hatch release button is there a spot for it or did it come from the factory without a switch because if it didnt then you will have to get an electric hatch relaese motor that pops the hatch when you push the button

I agree with black. I was able to hook up mine, but my TA came with the electric/pushbutton release. I just connected the correct wires to the remote start/keyless entry module...

It came from the factory with out a button but the hatch has a motor it just need to have the key. I think I remember something about that all you need to do is attach a relay to the motor and then just run it to the front.
--Edit--
Well I just found in the Third Gen Technical Articles a article called Adding a remote rear hatch release to a 90-92 Firebird. It may be for a firebird but it seems that they are compatable. Guess I'll call my GM dealer.
