and yet another headlight question....
and yet another headlight question....
did some searching but couldn't really find anything that relates to my problem...
My headlight motors needed to be repaired, so I bought a kit with the 3 bushings for each motor. I did the passenger side, tested it and it worked great...no problems. After I did the driver side motor, the headlights popped up, but then would not go back down. What I'm more concerned about is that when I turn on the lights, only the headlights work. The fog lights, parking lights, and interior lights don't turn on. What makes it more interesting is that when I press the lock/unlock button on my alarm key-fab the fog/parking/interior lights blink normally like they always did...so i know they work.
If I manually lower the lights, the motors will raise up again no problem, they just wont go back down. Also, I tried unplugging the driver's side motor just to see if the passenger would work again by itself but it stays stuck....any ideas??
thanks!

forgot to mention....turn signals work as well when turned on...

Re: and yet another headlight question....
sounds like the headlight switch for the dash needs replaced.. i replaced mine and they work great now.
Re: and yet another headlight question....
so you think i fried it? could something be shorting out after changing the bushings in the driver's side motor since i had to open the top part of the motor. Were your headlights doing the same thing before you changed the switch?

i rebuilt both of my headlight motors... still only went up .. replaced swtich go up and down with the switch . im thinking its the switch should fix your problem with the rest of the lights also. its a cheap part that tends to go bad quite a bit and easily replaced

Re: and yet another headlight question....
Your headlight switch sends a signal to the headlight door module, which is on the firewall (driver's side). You can test the down motor operation by checking the headlight door wiring - autozone wiring diagram has 2 wires going to each motor Dk Green & Grey - 1 is up power & the other is down power (just not sure which is which). I would disconnect connector at headlight motor & jumper up wire (which works) to down wire on motor & turn headlights on. If headlight door goes down, then module is probably bad. I got my last module for $5 at the boneyard. If module is bad PM me I probably have another one in my garage.

Re: and yet another headlight question....
After several weeks with the same problem you're having I found that my paperclip method of installing the d/s motor bushings was what caused my headlight module to fry repeatedly!
Seriously went through I think 4 of them!
After I rechecked my install,I found 1 of the wires pinched in the headlight housing that was grounding out and causing the module to blow every time the headlight switch was turned on.
Hope this helps!

mine use to do that it was the door module it wasn't bad but the connector that plugs into it wasn't making good connection, its got to be the module the motors are controlled by it,
the only problem you have with the motors are the brushes and the plastic ***** that gm used to connect the motor the the headlight frame after time they crumble then you cant do anything with the head lights but this is easily fixed by a couple of nuts form the local hardware store

I have a feeling this is my problem. Module is coming and I'll re-check my driver/side install....hopefully that's it!
