Ok guys this question has been asked a million times bt I cant find a strait answer. I searched but to no avial. I have an 89 RS camaro 355 swapped'. I need to rewire the alternator, I have a large red wire (dist. block) (bottom of alt.)........ Then there is a (approx 12 guage) red wire from the 2 wire plug, then laastly a white/brown stiped wire.

Now, i have read that the brown wire is the one I need to wire to the factory guage cluster plug on pin c100 or something???

Also the red wire is just go ahead 12v. So I assume to just wire it to the bottom BATT post of my alternator. Not sure.

I appreciate any help or suggestions. I would like to go 1 wire but it wont fit the stock serp bracket.

you really need the wiring diagram. there are 4 possible fusible links and the brown wire goes into a 20 amp fuse box inside the car.
i wish there was a way to insert a pic from our computer into the answers. im sure that there is but i cant figure it out.
maybe this did it. yes it got in. click on it and its the factory wiring for that issue.

Thanks for the good pictures. I am in the process of finishing a BBC swap I started years ago and this was a good refresher. It was a little tricky picking back up on a half wired project from years ago.
