from what im understandin is that yur tryin to find a voltage source, well did u not get any instructions, but if there are 3 wires, a hot a neutral and a ground then there are all kinds of hots around the car. Just expierement man i would know more about it if i had one myself.

Re: Wiring qtp cutout

where are you mounting the switch? cigarette lighter has a 12 volt source that most don't use if you mount the switch on the console.

Re: Wiring qtp cutout

I was thinking of using the power from the cigarrete lighter, but its constant power not switched power. In the directions it says to use a switched source cause it can run ur battery, which makes no sense to me cause the motor should not draw power till the switch is used. Correct me if im wrong

Re: Wiring qtp cutout

Let me rephrase that the directions tell u too use a switched 12v source
and not a constant 12v source cause they say id use a constant 12 v source it can run the battery down. This makes no sense to me, cause how is the cutout motor going to draw power when the switch is not being operated.

there is a switched source on the radio if you don't mind tying into that. I never checked but under my console there was w bunch of wires that were not connected to anything maybe you have them also and perhaps 1 is a switched 12 volt source.
