Some units require power locks to arm its self. Which kit did you buy?
Did it come with directions ?

Alarms are very tricky to install with all the wiring, if you have the basics hooked up (ground and power) it "should" arm
But if the alarm's negative trigger is hooked to a circuit that is showing a constant ground (ie; doors opened, or bad pinswitch)...it most likely won't arm until that circuit is broken.
Alarms will also not arm itself if the constant 12 volts and the ignition switched 12 volts are reversed. The purpose of the ignition switched 12 volts is so the alarm doesn't arm itself with the car running...so it blocks the arming capability when it's on.
I perosnally would unhook all of the sensors and triggers, and leave the bare basics....constant 12 volts, ignition switched, and ground hooked up...along with the siren. Then see what you have.
