some gauges dont work.

My cars RPM, water and voltage gauges dont move anymore and was wondering if I can fix that some how. I tried starting the car and battery died and gauges went blank now

Re: some gauges dont work.

is it only those gauges, does the dash light up? do they sometimes work? or are they always dead? what do you mean by they went blank, is it a digital dash?

or to be honest what it seems like is that the connector to the back of the dash is loose or not fully plugged in, try tightening the screws on the bottom and top of the dash, or even pushing the connector from the back.

Re: some gauges dont work.

I recently had an issue with my gauges as well. Turns out, my damn negative battery cable had become slightly loose, and the car could fire up, but would sputter out now and then, and the tac didn't work.

Re: some gauges dont work.

Car has a bad gas pump and tried starting it. Battery went very low and water, RPM, and volt gauges all went below a actually reading scale except for RPM which is stuck at 7000 sitting on needle. Lights come up still just the gauges dont work. The gauges all broke when the battery has gone dead or disconnected

ive been doing some research for you and it seems like theres alot of people who have had this happen to them once there car died, my car had an issue after i swapped the engine, the engine didnt repond well once i floored it, long story short for the rpm gauge, try this, unplug your ecm, and wait 30 secs before you replug it,(i forget the technical name for it but once you do this, it tells the car to go back to its programmed or stock {if you dont have a chip} settings) it sounds like it needs a reset. try this for the rpm gauge, should go back to normal.

for the water and volt gauge do the above first, if it still is not functioning then try replacing the component, just the volt and water temp gauges.
