i have an 86 z28 with 305 quadrajet and a vacuum advance also a 5 speed. i was at the bank today and i parked on a slight uphill, my e brake doesnt work so i just use first gear. anyway it rolled backwards a few feet i hopped in pressed the clutch i turned the key and NOTHING at all. the terminals are a lil loose but the volt guage reads full until i step on the brake and it reads 8 or the lowest on the guage. im hoping its just the loose terminals . is there anyway to troubleshoot the other obvious causes like the ignition. solenoid, clutch switch, or key?

 

What happens when you turn the key? Does anything still function? Radio, door locks? Definitely snug all your connections first and try it again. You may try getting a jump as your battery may have just picked that exact time to give up the ghost on you.

 

i got it fixed this evening battery decided to take a s*** on me. glad that was all that was wrong.
