New Chip Help... Is this normal?
So I have made alot of changes to the GTA. Headers, exhaust, etc. So today I put in a Hypertech street chip. I followed the steps illustrated in a post on here. Disconnected battery, put chip in, reconnected. Then I drove around for about 20 minutes. It is shifting funny, nearly stalling at stop signs, no real noticable performance change for the better, and even a little backfiring. I know it has to "relearn" things, but is all this normal. I will burn my own chip eventually, but right now I am just getting it ready for the drag strip Wed. night. Thanks!

Re: New Chip Help... Is this normal?
Yea rarely mailorder chips get it right the first time. I went through 3 or 4 from TPIchips and still couldnt get it right. When i started doing it myself i had a kickass tune within 6 tries all day for 2 or 3 days. I doubt the car will relearn how to run because the only thing that is stored in memory is the BLMs i believe. When all else fails do it yourself.
