that oragange wire is for the fan (+) power..
The other one is pretty important to, they should be connected to the opisite connectors near them.
You have a good ground ? Batt->Head and Block to Chassi ?
Cause without a good ground it cant charge..

Well you should have an AWG 4 running from your battery to the head/block (main ground)
if not, fix that. cause I dont think its good runnning without it..
I changed my + and - one out to AWG 2 wires, heavy duty DLS cable, Big difference against stock one. Also I changed the alternator wire to a larger one (10mm) So now its got good power and running all good again.

Re: new batt and alternator still dosent charge
well i found the problem and its all fixed now it ended up being a fuse that was missing from the fuseblock not even blown missing thats the second one ive found like this the other one was for my #2 injector! my car has the ac and heater bypassed and the slot for this fuse was f/p fan so i thought it went to the ac/heater and never thought a thing of it untill i started looking at wireing diagrams today and found it replaced it and it works fine but the battery wire that goes to the alt isnt there supposed to be a fuseable link in there? mine has been hacked apart i think the fuse went bad and then the guy cut and then put a butt connector in there and finished it the rest of the way with a smaller wire like 16 guage so im gonna replace that tomarrow and also this wire seemed to be getting really hot is this normal or maby because of the smaller wire? and could i just put an inline fuse in there instead of a fuseable link? what size fuse do i need? thanks

Re: new batt and alternator still dosent charge
Good it worked out.
The fuselink on the alternator cable dosent exist on all cars, only some.
Sometimes that fusiblelink is on the main (+) power cable from battery to starter.
Im running DLS - AWG 7 from alternator -> battery without any fuseible link.
Working good. The fusible link im using from (+) to the 2 wires connected to it (fan and some other + power) So those have it still.
But I wanna replace that fuseible link with a regular fuse, wich is much better, but I dont know what size cause the fusible link dosent have any ratings on them..

Well with cables you can never go to big
So an 6 awg would be fine to, just little harder to install, but if you do it right, it will be fine
