92 RS cruise control

Hi all, Anybody know where the cruise control module is installed on a 92 RS? I am trying to install one and by the harness, it looks like it may be on the passenger side somewhere. Thanks in advance.

Literally behind the ECM mounted to a bracket bolted to the HVAC box

His pic shows the correct connector, but its deceiving on location. Its about 10" to the right of his hand

Thanks I't tear it apart and start installing tomorrow. I love the RS, just can't live without Cruise control. Already installed the power windows, locks and mirrors.

Anybody got a pic on the servo mounting location and the wiring passthrough location in the firewall?

The engine bay mount changed from year to year, engine to engine. Generally its on the drivers side, on or in front of the washer tank. Its a large vacuum diaphragm with a cable coming out of it, you cant miss it

Firewall port is under the base of the steering column and runs the length of the frame rail in with the front light harness loom

I am actualy installing this in a car without it. I was just trying to get it to look OE. There is a seperate harness for the cruise, I am looking for the spot to drill the hole for it.

Thank though.

Re: 92 RS cruise control

OK, got it all installed, just one more detail. Where should I tie into the vaccum line for the servo? Can I just T in at the canister?

Re: 92 RS cruise control

You mounted it in the stock location, there will be no problem with it there. Strange to see the vacuum line teed and capped for a non cruise car, but yes, you simply tee into it right there

Be sure the vacuum line goes to the SMALL port on the cruise head. The large port goes to the tube in the harness and attaches to a brake switch

Re: 92 RS cruise control

On my 85, the line from the vac tank (the upward pointing one in your pic), T's and one side goes to the servo.
