Help! I've got a 3500lb radio!
My Camaro gets driven about 500 miles a year and spends most of it's time in the garage. It's an L98 powered 1987 IROC with 125K miles. It has some bolt ons but it still is the factory long block. I parked the car about 4 months ago and it was running great. I tried to start it about 2 months ago and it would turn over but not fire. It's getting plenty of fuel but no fire. I suspected the ignition module and had it checked and was bad. I put a new (checked great) module in and still nothing. My coil (an Accel aftermarket) checks out fine and I even put the factory coil in and still nothing. The coil does not seem to fire at all-checked it with a grounded plug and nothing. My question is why am I not getting power from the coil? I've got power from the factory coil harness and it seems to be seeing power in one of the 2 plugs. My volt meter is old and I don't have a great deal of faith in it but other than that I've exhausted all my options that I can think of. I'm wondering, distributor? pickup? ignition switch? Many thanks in advance for any suggestions. I'd like to get her back on the road as I'm tired of paying insurance on a 4 wheeled radio!

Disconnect the 4 pin plug from the distributor.
Crank.
Is there spark?

No, I haven't done that but I will try. I'm starting to think it's distributor related. I put a hot jumper wire on the hot side of the coil and still nothing. The distributor tells the coil when to fire does it not? If it has failed then there's my problem right? Thanks for the advice, I'll let you know what happens.

Also check your pickup coil and see what it ohms to and see if it is open to ground .
