Power Mirror Install on 92 RS
I have a 1992 RS that I have bought a set of Tans Am power mirros and door swith to get rid of the stock manual mirrors. The problem that I have is I do not know what wires do what. Does any one have or know where to get wiring diagrams so I can build a new harness?

Re: Power Mirror Install on 92 RS
Thanks for the link, but the diagram has everything but power mirrors in it. I have a total of 8 wires coming out of the switch. 4 on the directional control (up/down/left/right) and 2 on each side of the selector switch (left and right). I will know later today how many wires are on the mirros. FedEx shows them out for delivery today. I bought them off Ebay and all I know is that they came off of a thirdgen Trans Am. Since all the mirrors are the same not a big deal just don't know which wire color code they used on the mirrors. I think I could probably use any Firebird or Trans Am wiring driagram as lonf as it shows what each wire does the color shouldn't really matter. Even if you could just tell me what wires do what that would be a hugh help.
Thanks again.
P.S. Be cautios of Ebay member "smokengta" this is who I got my switch from. In his description of the switch he said "comes with wiring harness" When I got what I thought was going to be a switch and wiring harness all I got was the switch with 3" of wire attached to the switch, NO harness. He basicaly said so sorry to bad his idea of a wiring harness is different than mine and says that he will refund my money once he gets the switch back, and then asks me to not leave feed back.
What do you guys think I should do?
Thanks again.

When I switched to power mirrors, I got hold of a complete mirror harness, so it was plug and play for me.
The Firebird power mirror switch will not mount in the stock door location of the Camaro - the 'Bird switch is bigger.
Hayne's manual no good for mirrors either. But I found a wiring diag or 2 here - maybe it will help:

Re: Power Mirror Install on 92 RS
I received my mirrors this afternoon and started testing them with the switch. I found that the orange wire is positive and the black is negative. the blue, yellow, green, and white are the directional control wires. The left/right switch controls on side of each motor inside the mirror. The directional controls reverse positive and negative to the motors and in turn run the motors clockwise or counter-clockwise. If anyone needs I have the color coding as to what combonations do what. Thanks for posting the links they did help.

Re: Power Mirror Install on 92 RS
Not sure about other years, but my 1997 has different colored wires, different connectors, and different number of actual wires. It used a joystick-type switch to change mirror position - pushed joystick up/down/left/right to change mirror position, and twisted the joystick left/right to change mirrors (a single joystick on driver door controls both mirrors). I tried once to incorporate that joystick, but I never got the right combo of wires correlated correctly to make all functions to work right and I gave up. I'm sure it's possible to use the 4th gen switch, but I didn't have the patience to figure it all out.

When I put 4th gen TA mirrors on my 87 GTA, the plug was exactly the same. Only "problem" was left went right & right went left. I simply unplugged the 2 wires from the connector, plugged them back into the connector and all was good. Completely can't tell anything changed, unless someone already knew how the wire colors were arranged stock in the connector. I think I modded the mirror side of the plug, so that the chassis side was still original.

Re: Power Mirror Install on 92 RS
If installing power mirrors on my 92 RS is as easy as installing the fog lamps, then I will beging buying all the components so I can install them right away.
