Headlight Size?

Hey guys. I'm getting a 1987 Camaro and want to put HID headlights in it.
I know people have their opinions and might not like it, but we have our own taste.
I saw online that the bulb size in the camaro is H4656. Is that the same as H4, or no?

Also, will i need to buy a conversion kit? Or just projector headlights and the bulb? Any help is appreciated!

Re: Headlight Size?

Oh also, because I do not have the car yet(picking it up this week), I do not know too much about it. I can tell from pictures that the headlights have two housings on each side. Is one low beam and one high beam?

Sorry for the stupid questions.. It's just that it's going to be my first car and I'm excited and inexperienced.

Re: Headlight Size?

You'll hafta buy a complete conversion harness with the individual ballasts, for each side. And get housings designed for HIDs.

I wasted my $ a couple of years ago on plug-n-play "projector" headlights. The light output was a JOKE! I took them out & threw them away.

Since the Firebird lights are different that the Camaro lights, I can't point you towards any specific housings. I don't have knowledge of god ones.

But as for the ballasts & wiring...... http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=102&parent=85

Re: Headlight Size?

Yes. These are the ones for a Firebird, which are the wrong size for a Camaro.
