On my 91 camaro rs 3.1L my headlights, tail lights and dash lights do not turn on. I've replaced the switch, but now it appears that there is no power to the switch. We have power at the tail light fuse which also seems to function as a fuse for the headlights on the wiring diagram. So I'm assuming there is a power loss somewhere between fuse and switch. Does anyone have an suggestions on where to look?
As a side note the switch i purchased was for a model with daytime running lights (only model Autozone seems to carry) which my car does not have. It fits just fine and seems to have all the proper connections, does anyone know if this switch will still work properly?

 

I am having a simular prob, I just installed my stereo, the only thing I did different was hook up the grey illumination light to the stereo and now the headlight switch doesnt turn anything on and all the fuses are good??. I read in the Hanes manual that the headlight switch it self has a circuit breaker inside, when there is an over load it will not allow the headlight switch to work, Once you fix the problem the switch will automaticly function properly. Let me know how yours turned out, If this works I will post the fix here.

 

So did you then unhook that grey illumination wire?

Start looking there

You've got power to the fuseblock, but do you have anything at the light harness? IGN and light harness feeds are separate in the C100. You may have blown a fusible link

 

Yea sorry, it was the fusible link underneath by the starter.

 

hello i have a similar problem....started a new post "no headlights at all. help"
no high or low beams at all
no power going to connector
new bulb
multiswitch will not switch (click from high to low)
car starts ok...fusible link on starter...how do you check.....never had to replace one before.

 

mh82camaro it turns out mine was the fusable link. To check it out just jack the front end of the car up and there will be two wires coming off the starter i think, maybe three. The fusable link will just be a piece of wire thats a few guages smaller than the rest.(Don't remember what guages they were.) But the bad one will have a soft spot in it which is where the fusable link blew. I just went to Autozone bought a new fusable link and spliced it in. It's not too difficult. Mine was a 91 camaro rs though so yours could possibly be a little different

 

Weird i have this same issue, ill have to look at my starter i suppose. I can get blinkers, thats about it, otherwise sidemarkers and everything else is a no go.
