IAC Question
I want to start by saying that I have posted a few questions before about a battery drain issue I was having. A fully charged battery would drain in 4-5 days. I finally went to the parts store, bought a license plate light socket with two wire connection and a bulb. I connected the light socket with one wire to the negative battery cable, and one wire to the negative battery post. I made sure everything was turned off and could see that the light was on = a draw somewhere. I pulled every fuse possible... no luck. That brings me to my Idle Air Control sensor question.
I noticed in the past that I could hear the IAC activating with the key out of the ignition, sounded like an electric signal being sent to the IAC and the pintle moving in and out. So as a final measure I pulled the IAC connector and presto... the light dimmed and went out.
Has anyone heard of an IAC going bad and causing this type of problem, and is this an IAC or ECM problem?

Re: IAC Question
Thanks 92rs, I guess what I am wondering is... is it the IAC or ECM that is bad and could someone explain to me how to check both the IAC and ECM using a digital multimeter. I already ordered a new IAC so I am kind of hoping its just the IAC and not a malfunctioning ECM!
