Ok, I have done a T-5 conversion, now the rear hatch will not open with the console switch? Been a while since I have drove this and I am just tying up the loose ends, my thinking is that the nutral safety switch would not allow the hatch to operate unless the car is in park or nutral, that is now re-routed to the clutch peddle. If I push in the clutch it still does not operate?

Narrowing down it is likely the removal of the automatic shifter, anyone have this issue during a T-5 conversion?

Did you check your fuses or make sure the connector isnt loose? It could be as simple as that. If you have the clutch switch wired up the same as the neutral safety switch, it should be the problem.

 

I didn't even bother with a clutch switch. I just wired the purple and the yellow wire together. Your hatch should have nothing to do with the switch. Im guessing like he was saying it could be as small as a fuse or bad ground somewhere.

 

My hatch doesnt open with the key on unless the parking brake is applied.With the key off the button works all the time.Its the factory safety feature.

 

I just tested that. Mine wont pop with or without the key unless the parking brake is on.
